Reform Radiology's new site now open!
Reform Radiology is committed to providing best-in-class imaging and treatment services to the Te Waipounamu South Island population. Our digital PET-CT and the South Island’s first community SPECT-CT scanner offer much needed medical imaging capacity for the region. Reform's nuclear medicine and PET-CT radiologists are sub-specialty trained and at the forefront of advancements in molecular imaging and theranostics.
This purpose built, state-of-the-art facility is New Zealand’s first dedicated full suite of molecular imaging and therapy services. We will assist in timely characterisation and staging of many cancers, including prostate, melanoma, lung, breast, neuroendocrine, and colon cancer. Enhanced access to these world class technologies will lead to improved healthcare outcomes for our community.
PET-CT tracers
•18F-FDG for cancer staging/surveillance
•18F-FDG for cardiac sarcoidosis and other inflammatory conditions
•18F-Flouride (NaF) scans for orthopaedics
•18F-FBΒ amyloid markers for Alzheimer's disease
•68Ga-PSMA for prostate cancer
•68Ga-DOTATATE for neuroendocrine tumours
SPECT-CT (Nuclear Medicine) scans
•99mTc-HDP bone scans
Nuclear medicine bone scans are used in the detection or follow-up of osseous metastases, radiographically occult injuries, osteomyelitis, prosthetic hardware infection or loosening, evaluation of primary bone lesions, avascular necrosis, bone infarcts, bone graft viability, complex regional pain syndrome, distribution of osteoblastic activity for radionuclide therapy preparation, arthritis, and to investigate indeterminate findings suggestive of skeletal involvement.
•Anti-granulocyte scans
Localising infections that involve white blood cells, or granulocytes.
•Sentinel node injections/scans
Identify lymphatic drainage pathways, typically utilised in breast cancer and melanoma, aiding in staging and treatment planning.
•Myocardial Perfusion scans
Assess blood flow to the heart muscle, helping to diagnose ischemia, coronary artery disease and evaluate heart function.
•MAG3/DMSA renal scans
Evaluate kidney function and structure, helping to detect abnormalities such as obstruction, scarring, and impaired differential renal function.
•Endocrine scans
Evaluate the function and detect abnormalities in endocrine glands, such as thyroid and parathyroid conditions.
•Hepatobiliary/gastrointestinal scans
Assessment of liver, biliary excretion and gastrointestinal organs, aiding in the diagnosis of conditions such as gallbladder/biliary dysfunction and bowel transit disorders.
Advanced hot lab infrastructure
Our nuclear medicine hot lab is one of the best equipped in Australasia. It is fitted with an onsite 68Ga generator and performed the first 68Ga-PSMA and 68Ga-DOTATATE PET-CT scans in the South Island.
Theranostics
Our nuclear medicine specialists are trained to perform 177Lu therapies, including 177Lu-PSMA treatment for prostate cancer, and in future, 177Lu-DOTATATE for neuroendocrine tumours. Our clinic has two dedicated treatment rooms to accommodate patients for these cutting-edge cancer treatments.
